Jade Falconer's Sanctuary
Winner of the Golden Rose Award for Best Paranormal Romance
The exciting sequel to Jade's best-selling novel Morningstar!
Generations after the great disaster, in a world where homosexuality was outlawed to ensure the human race survived and vampires hunted those left alive, theirs was a dangerous association. Scott was a century-old vampire and Daniel a vampire hunter.
When Scott was faced with Daniel's imminent death, he did the only thing he could do. He turned him into a vampire. But Daniel wasn't just an ordinary human. As on of the most infamous vampire hunters, Daniel had dedicated his life to wiping the predators out. Now he has to find meaning in a life where he, too, is one of the living dead.
Can Daniel forgive Scott and find a way to protect the human race even as he, himself, is destined to drink their blood?

Sanctuary is the sequel to Morningstar, an explicit male/male vampire romance. At the end of Morningstar and repeated as the first scene of Sanctuary, Daniel a/k/a Morningstar, the most feared vampire hunter to ever walk the earth, was murdered by Morgan, then turned by Scott, his vampire lover. Now the Hunters will kill Daniel on sight thinking they do him a favor. Daniel only wishes to stop the war preventing the world from being rebuilt and forcing everyone to live in the most primitive, uncomfortable conditions.
There is still some fighting for the action lovers, but this book is more about Daniel’s dream to rebuild a society where vampires and humans work and live together in harmony. There is more time for sex and this book has male on male ménages and partner swapping in addition to the lovemaking between Daniel and Scott. The sex is very hot, well written and exciting. The characters are well developed; we even get to know Scott and Daniel better as they grow as a couple and as individuals. Slowly, one person at a time, Daniel sees his dream realized as people begin to see that together they can protect each other and build a working society that is self sufficient and comfortable. Together they face every obstacle, made easier by their support of each other. Though still a dark saga about vampires, Sanctuary is an uplifting story of all that can be accomplished if everyone ignores their differences and works together to build a more secure future, but mostly it is about really well written, stimulating, homoerotic sex. The series is definitely a keeper and Sanctuary is a must read.

Leaving off where "Morningstar" ended, this is the story of trying to build a life for yourselves when both what you are and who you love are crimes against humanity and carry heavy penalties.
This is a well though out continuation of a great story. I give this a 4 instead of a five because there was a little heavy handed moralizing and overly simplified solution, but a great read for anyone who likes paranormal romance stories.
Read "Morningstar" first or you will be lost, but definitely read this story too.
