Jade Falconer's first paperback Morningstar: Death and Life

Together in one volume: the bestselling saga of vampire Scott and hunter Daniel as they struggle to survive and love in a future world of desolation and danger!

Morningstar: In a future where the human race struggles to survive, the only elite are the hunters laying their lives on the line every night to defend their own kind against the undead predators. But one man stands above them all. Morningstar. Can the most feared vampire hunter find solace and passion in the arms of his sworn enemy, one of the undead? In an environment of oppressive laws, designed to help the human race survive a massive population collapse, the attraction between Daniel and Scott is blazing and instantaneous... and outlawed. But how will they overcome the obstacles they face, when one is sworn to kill the other?

Sanctuary: Generations after the great disaster, in a world where homosexuality was outlawed to ensure the human race survived and vampires hunted those left alive, theirs was a dangerous association. Scott was a century-old vampire and Daniel a vampire hunter.

When Scott was faced with Daniel's imminent death, he did the only thing he could do. He turned him into a vampire. But Daniel wasn't just an ordinary human. As on of the most infamous vampire hunters, Daniel had dedicated his life to wiping the predators out. Now he has to find meaning in a life where he, too, is one of the living dead.

Can Daniel forgive Scott and find a way to protect the human race even as he, himself, is destined to drink their blood?

Reviews

“Morningstar is simply stunning with its combination of believable characters, intense sex and a fascinating world.  Jade Falconer has managed to write a tale that was able to wrap me up in every scene on every page.” – joyfullyreviewed.com

"...a passionate love affair that will stay with you long after the story has ended." – Isabelle Spencer RRTErotic.com

"Powerful and dark, this nefarious but amazing love story left me in awe. The circumstances that plunged the world into darkness were not only believable but frighteningly possible, a foundation which made the conditions in the plot completely feasible. The main characters, especially Daniel, were real enough to care about, to treasure their uniqueness and zest for loving. Many supporting characters we didn't get to know well but the villain was almost too real. It was stunning that our main characters could possibly find love under such conditions, but I've always heard love will find a way. It was such a passionate love that the powerful sex scenes occasionally left me shaking. Their affair would seem controversial to some readers with male/male, vampire/human sex. It was certainly taboo on both counts in their society. Discovery would mean death, period. The ending was surprising yet fitting, even if it felt a bit abrupt in the way the end often comes. It affected me in a haunting way I can't explain, but I'll be thinking of these characters for awhile. I highly recommend Morningstar for an imaginative, unusual, decidedly original and captivating read." – Just Erotic Romance Reviews

Sanctuary is the sequel to Morningstar, an explicit male/male vampire romance. At the end of Morningstar and repeated as the first scene of Sanctuary, Daniel a/k/a Morningstar, the most feared vampire hunter to ever walk the earth, was murdered by Morgan, then turned by Scott, his vampire lover. Now the Hunters will kill Daniel on sight thinking they do him a favor. Daniel only wishes to stop the war preventing the world from being rebuilt and forcing everyone to live in the most primitive, uncomfortable conditions.

There is still some fighting for the action lovers, but this book is more about Daniel’s dream to rebuild a society where vampires and humans work and live together in harmony. There is more time for sex and this book has male on male ménages and partner swapping in addition to the lovemaking between Daniel and Scott. The sex is very hot, well written and exciting. The characters are well developed; we even get to know Scott and Daniel better as they grow as a couple and as individuals. Slowly, one person at a time, Daniel sees his dream realized as people begin to see that together they can protect each other and build a working society that is self sufficient and comfortable. Together they face every obstacle, made easier by their support of each other. Though still a dark saga about vampires, Sanctuary is an uplifting story of all that can be accomplished if everyone ignores their differences and works together to build a more secure future, but mostly it is about really well written, stimulating, homoerotic sex. The series is definitely a keeper and Sanctuary is a must read.
